A Miniature Schnauzer is a small breed of dog that originated in Germany in the mid to late 19th century. They were originally bred as medium sized farm dogs, but were eventually mixed with Miniature Pinschers, Poodles and Pomeranians because they excelled at dealing with rats.

Miniature Schnauzers became quite popular primarily because of their temperament and their small size.

Miniature Schnauzers are Hypoallergenic and they can weigh anywhere from 12-18 pounds. If they are under 12 pounds they would be considered Toy sized.

How to adopt a puppy

The first step to adopt a Miniature Schnauzer puppy is to complete our Puppy Adoption Application. We ask that you provide detailed answers whenever possible.

After you complete your application you'll be able to place a $300 deposit. Your deposit will secure your ability to reserve any available puppy, or you can choose to have your name placed on our list of depositors for an upcoming litter.  Only those people who have placed a deposit have the opportunity to reserve a puppy.  See our Available Puppies.

We take careful care and consideration to make sure our puppies are going to the most loving homes. The Mini Schnauzer adoption process first starts with filling out an application, once we review your application and if you are a good fit, we will contact you with instructions to make a deposit and then your puppy will be ready to go home after 8 weeks old.
